First released in April 2004 as a Java application, UC Browser is an Internet browser now available for Windows, iOS, and Android from UCWeb, a subsidiary of Alibaba. According to Statcounter, as of December 2022, UC Browser is the eighth ranked browser with 0.67% of the worldwide market share.

On June 26, 2020, the India Government banned UC Browser and other Chinese apps.
