Founded in 1981 by Larry Boucher, Wayne Higashi, and Bernard Nieman, Adaptec is a brand of Microsemi that makes computer storage products. The company first went public in 1986 and acquired by PMC-Sierra in 2010 that was acquired by Microsemi in 2016.
