Astec is a leading provider of power supplies and conversions and a subsidiary of Emerson Network Power. Emerson Network Power is a manufacturer of power supplies, UPS, monitoring, rack mounts and related products for corporate environments.

In 2006, Emerson Network Power launched as its own business called Vertiv.

In December 2016, Platinum Equity acquired Emerson Network Power from Emerson Electric, and officially renamed the company to Vertiv Holdings Co. Vertiv is now a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.

April 7, 1999 - Howard Lance, chief executive officer of Astec today announced that Astec was now 100-percent owned by Emerson Electric Company and would operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. As a result, Astec would no longer be listed on the London Stock Exchange.
