Founded on September 16, 2011, by Stanford University students Bobby Murphy, Evan Spiegel, and Reggie Brown, Snap is a social media company best known for developing Snapchat. Snap also owns related apps including Bitmoji, a digital avatar creator, and Looksery, an app that specializes in facial tracking and AR lenses. A line of smart glasses called Spectacles, which integrate with other Snap services, is also in production.
Snap was founded as Snapchat Inc., but shortened the company name to Snap Inc. on September 24, 2016.
