Founded in 1999 by Jim Barton and Mike Ramsay, Tivo is a DVR (digital video recorder) developed and marketed by TiVo, Inc. It provides an on-screen guide of scheduled broadcast programming television programs, and the ability to schedule their recording times. A "season pass" feature can optionally record every new episode of a series automatically, and a "wish list" allows users to find their favorite shows by actor, title, director or category.
