    severe and aggrivating XP problem
    « on: February 11, 2010, 11:00:50 PM »
I am currently on Windows XP home

I have a severe problem on my computer right now. When I try to open up any folder, program, document, control panel, even run cmd - basically everything - I get the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." And this makes it so that I CANNOT DO ANYTHING. The only way that I am on the internet right now is because I have a bookmark shortcut on the desktop which so far is the only thing that will open.

I think this problem might be related to Spyware Doctor, as this happened sometime after I downloaded it. I downloaded it because I had the virus XPGuardian that I could not get rid off. I am also trying to look at my processes to see if something is there that is causing the problem.

    Help greatly appreciated.
