    sound driver problem

    hi i recently reinstalled xp sp 2.
    from then i am  not getting sound
    i have installed realtek audio drivers
    this is not my first time to  this problem but when every time install xp and install realtek it works normally this time its not working.

    it says in via ac'97 audio controller is unable to start.

    fyi i am attaching the hijack this log file

    pls help me.

    Did you install the chipset driver first?

      did you try driver genius you can download it from

      Link Removed.

      choose one of the links you will also need to download bittoorent or utorrent

      install and let the the driver genius have a look for you

      DO NOT use driver genius or any similar utility. DO NOT download driver torrents.

        what chipset?

        i have mercury motherboard
        when i tried to download sound drivers from mercury site, it has downloaded but couldnot save those file.
        so i couldn't install it also

        Download and install the chipset driver from your pc mfg's web site or from the chipset provider's website. THEN install the audio driver.

              thanks a lot

              sound works after installing from the mercury mainboard cd

              i can always rely on CH guys for any kinda problems

              thanks a lot to all who r working to solve problems without expecting anything.
