Installing XP on a SATA Hard Drive
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:41:35 PM »
I am trying to Install Win. XP on an ACER computer Pentium 4 with a new Western Digital SATA hard drive. I have 3 good copies of Win. XP all the same key. When I Install it formats the drive with NTFS no problem. When it starts copying files I get to 93% and I get the blue screen that says "Setup can not copy the file: pro_seg5.swf" if I skip the file I get the same message on the next file "tourW.exe" and so on. I have tried all 3 copies even one that I never use with the same results.  Where am I going wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated......Thank You

Try a different CD drive.

Copies of an XP CD are the most common issue of the results you are getting...

Try a different CD drive.

have tried all 3 copies
::)

Errors during setup that say "cannot copy file" usually point to a dirty CD or CD DRIVE::)
