Hello, I am new to this forum, but I was looking at some past issues other users have had, and I was hoping to get some help. I recently started having some major problems with my computer.
A program called Antivirus Soft keeps popping up saying I have many infected files. I will not let it scan or delete anything, as I am aware that it isn't legitimate. But anytime I try to run a program, a window pops up that says "Application cannot be executed. The file *** is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?" I have tried to open Internet Explorer to look for solutions, but when it comes up, it says it wont open the page because it contains malicious content, or some such thing, so I had to use some elses computer to look for help. It also opens porn and similar sites in Internet Explorer all on its own.
I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2, and Super Antispyware that was up to date as of two weeks ago. I tried to update super antispyware (I know there is an update available), but it wont let me. I also tried the same thing in safe mode, but no dice. Since I can't use Internet Explorer, what can I do?? I really need some intense help here, and am willing to name my firstborn after anyone who can help me fix this issue
