    Can't send messages, but receive.
    « on: May 21, 2010, 09:35:05 AM »
    Hello,

I am having trouble with Outlook. I receive e-mail without any problems, but
I cannot send. A message comes up saying "Send test e-mail message: Outlook
cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service
    provider (ISP)."
I am using Office 2007, can anyone help me?

    Thank you.

Was this working at one point?  Have you checked your email account settings in Outlook, particularly the settings for SMTP?  Do have the correct/most recent info from your ISP on their required setting for SMTP?

      Hey
I would do a system restore to a point where everything worked.
      Get there from
      Start/programs/acc/system tools/system restore.
Also let us know what ISP you have and maybe someone can talk to through to setup if they have the same thing.
Also, You might get an answer for Outlook faster if you post in this
      newsgroup:

      microsoft.public.outlook.general

        Thank you for your reply,

The ISP is Broadviewnet.net, and what I am wondering is; why can I receive and not sent. Also I just went in to their domain website, and tried to use my account thru them directly. The e-mail that I sent went thru, so my question remains. By the way here are the smtp setup:
        smtp-auth.broadviewnet.net.

        Thank you again,
        Salomon
