    PC not detecting internal DVD-RW
    « on: June 09, 2010, 08:14:01 AM »
Hi, just bought a second hand internal Philips DVD-RW DL (IDE interface) on ebay to replace my old Emprex one. I have it set up inside my PC, LED, SIMM and IDE cables are all connected but when i go into the BIOS its saying 'unknown device'. Just before the PC starts up its also saying 'secondard hard drive 1 not found even though i only have one hard drive.  Any help would be great. I also have an internal Lite-on CD-RW which in the D drive

    My specs are:
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
    640mb RDRAM
    200gb harddrive
Geforce FX 5200 256mb graphics card

Ok, just got it sorted! Had to change the jumper setting to Slave, it was on the Master jumper setting.
