My computer is messing up. Why?
    « on: July 03, 2010, 01:17:11 PM »
My computers fan runs very fast and blows out cool air 20 minutes after I start it up. Its not the power supply fan, or motherboard fan. Its the one on the side of the computer. Well I cleaned it and its still doing that. Why is my computers fan running fast?

The voltage switch on the back of my computer was screwed into place, but the screws fell out and now its just hanging in there. Could that be screwing up the cooling system and making the fan run loud?

Also my computer has shut down twice saying it may damage the inside of the computer. Then I was playing a game and it shut it down more than once. Why is that?

Did you need to ask? What country do you live in?

Try running speedfan (http://download.cnet.com/SpeedFan/3000-2094_4-10067444.html) and post the temps here.

Your cpu may be running hot thus causing the fan to speed up.

You don't see this?  GPU Temp 99C
Your graphics controller is cooking.  Is it's cooling fan spinning?

If you take off the side and look at the card behind where the monitor plugs in - is the fan on that spinning and free of dust?  Is the graphics card on a separate card or built into the motherboard?
