Error in Microsoft Office Word 2003

I try clicking on a blue hyperlink in a word document (via the Ctrl+Click way) and I get this message:

What is the proper solution for this? I have googled and seen people say something about editing registry, I also have seen people saying it's fixed by making IE the default browser (I have Chrome as default).

When I Ctrl+Click links in the word document, the webpage or whatever the link goes to should open up in a browser. It worked before, don't know what happened now.

Did you try with IE as default?

yes. I also read some people had that problem when they had chrome installed, and an uninstallation worked, but I don't want to uninstall chrome.
