    Speaker volume in Dell Desktop
    « on: September 02, 2010, 12:58:58 PM »
I have several Dell desktop computers one being Dimension 2400,
why when taking a speaker and connecting two wires to a jack on
the speaker out of the computer do they not have much volume?
I have the volume set way up. I have never had or used computer
speakers so I do not know if they have a amplifier built in.

All speakers designed for a computer have built in amplifiers.  Audio outputs on a computer are not powerful enough to power normal speakers without some kind of amplification.

As an alternative, You can run an audio output from a computer into a stereo and then into regular speakers.
