    I am trying to allow a third party program to allow access to the address book to allow access that address book to generate e-mails from the program but I cant seem to find out how to change this?  Any ideas?

    Since you have told us the name of this "third party program", how could anyone advise you on it?  Have you investigated the possibility of exporting your address book to a file, perhaps in CSV format, and then importing it into the third party program?  I'm assuming the third party program has it's own address/contact list.
