    Restore factory settings
    « on: February 23, 2011, 03:28:32 PM »
I have restored IBM ThinkPad R31 with Windows XP to the factory settings before without the restore CD.  I'm trying to restore it to the factory settings again, but hitting F11 doesn't bring up the restore option any more.  I read somewhere that the hidden partition may got deleted during last restore.  Please advise.

Thanks, Jason.  My R31 doesn't seem to feature this, though.

      Greetings, kufghlum.

You may be able to boot to a Linux distro and see if the recovery partition is still present and viable.

If the partition is still there and contains usable files, maybe transfer them, burn them as an image? Don't know - I've never tried that, but it may be worth a shot.
