Hard drive size not the same

as the size shown in properties...320 g hard drive only shows up as a 179 g

Is it possible you were sold the wrong drive?

Right-click the drive -> Properties -> Hardware
The HDD should be listed in the listbox. Look for the correct drive and type the code into google to make sure you have the right drive.

Another thing:

Start - > Run -> diskmgmt.msc

Check to make sure the size of your partition utilizes the whole drive space. If there is blank space left after the partition, then you can resize the partition. To resize the partition, you have to use a different tool.
