    CD DATA Publishing-"Shortcut Drive Targets"
    « on: March 07, 2011, 09:36:13 AM »
Hi, new to this, and hope some one can help?  ???

I'm publishing a load of automotive data on CD for free distribution. I have one main file on the disc containing lots of PD F's with internal Hyperlinks, that work just fine on any computer the disk is loaded to. Outside of the file is a ADOBE DOWNLOAD, a (Read me First) Text File, & a Shortcut targeted to the main Hyperlink page in the File.

Problem is, my Drive is E: , on other peoples computers I've had F: , and no doubt ther's more CD drive designations. Of course the shortcut fails to recognise other drives. IS THERE A WILDCARD or SOMTHING TO FIX THIS? that I can write in Target: & Start in: . Many thanks, Please feel free to email

Solution: Don't use shortcuts. You could use a batch file instead.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
