 ??? Do I need special drivers installed for my scsi hdd to be recognized?

Are you attempting to boot from the SCSI drive?
What version of Windows?

I have windows xp, with all the updates current. I am using verizon dsl. I have the adaptor card and the bios on the card recognizes the drive but it doesn't show in my computer.

I used to have a SCSI hard drive with the same issue.  Win2k would see it, WinXP would not.  See if it shows up in Disk Management.
