Location of Windows 7 backup files?
    « on: June 25, 2011, 06:40:57 AM »
Somehow I managed to move the Window 7 MY-PC Backup files to my external drive and want to put them back where they were.  Also, how long do the backup files continue to be created?

Where were the backup files originally located? Thanks

I suppose you could just run another backup and the files will be stored in there correct location. Then you can dispense with the ones on the external.
The backups are created whenever you have set your schedule to back up, and if you do an update there will be a restore point set each time. The computer should only keep the most up to date backup.

It's been creating new backup files in the external drive.

Disconnect the external HDD and then do a backup.

It is a user's choice for any task to perform on either scheduling a backup or making a restore.

I went back and reviewed Windows Explorer again and did finally find where the restore files were origianlly located.

        Thanks for the help.
