Computer shuts off and turns back on
    « on: July 13, 2011, 11:16:22 AM »
My computer will turn on, then after a minute or so it shuts down and then reboots?

I tried to restore it to a earlier time and it won't let me do that.

I seen on another board it could be the keyboard, so I changed my keyboard...

I tried to run a scan but it won't stay on long enough to even do that.

It won't stay on long enough for me to troubleshoot it...

    The error says :
    Runtime Error
    Program: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe

Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

What recent changes(installed or uninstalled) before this happen? What protection softwares(Antivirus, AntiMalware, Spyware, System Scanner or Firewall) are you using? Have you tried booting to Safemode(press F8 on powering your PC) to see if it still restarting?

Haven't had any changes to it or new programs? I tried to reload windows xp but it gets half way through it and stops ...says : Page_Fault_in_NonPaged_ Area

It won't even let me into safe mode...

It is a HP Compaq...I am wondering if I buy a new hardrive and put it in would that fix it?
