hard disk fail

hi out there!

i have a problem about my pc.

first i notice that everytime you open the computer it begin scan disk if it is properly shutdown. then sometimes it cannot detect the hard disk but sometimes it detects but it cannot continue to open the windows until i see an error message saying primary master har disk fail. lastly i noticed that the hard disk is very noisy.
what should i do?
is it a virus?
is it better to reformat the hard disk or installng the win xp again?

Your Hard Disk Drive is failing. Obtain diagnostic software from the manufacturer and test the integrity of the HDD. Backup any data whilst you still can.

hi guys out there!

how could i know what is the problem on my computer?
the prob is that after i reformat the hard disk and install an xp os i see that theres a blue screen when it start to load the windows. i try to change the memory and the video card but it is still the same. is it the processor or the motherboard that cause this error? what should i do? pls. help me........!

by the sory for not not clearing my question.

i already try ur advce but stil the same.then i come up with my decision that i reformat the hard disk then it came up with that new problem. i think my problem get worse and worse. i cannot continue now loading the xp os and it appears a blue screen.

2. Open file
3. Insert Diskette
4. Follow instructions

5. Set first boot device to FDD or A:
6. Follow instructions.
