On your Google Chrome browser, click wrench icon and choose options, then on Basics options look for Search and click current search engine
Yahoo and change to Google, Exit. You can even change HomePage if you want under that same category.

If clicking on the Google Chrome icon opens up search.yahoo.com, then your homepage is set to search.yahoo.com. In order to change this, click on the wrench icon and then find the Home Page setting (it should be in the basic settings menu that opens automatically).  Select "open this page" and type in www.google.com.  Then make sure the setting called "On Startup" at the very top is set for "open the homepage."

However, if I misunderstood you and you just want to set Google as your default search engine, then jason2074 has the proper way to do that.
