DvD/CD-RW tray issues problems !
« on: August 23, 2011, 05:50:29 PM »
Dislodged the right-side if the dvd/ cd-rom tray with my knee & tray would not open/close .  I removed /opened-up the Drive unit from PC unit  & seemed to have re-line the right with the left side tray. Then to re-installing/plug connect to mother-board & dvd drive, as I closed the PC-rom tray it would soon re-open . Must be a few options to solve or correct this ??  ???  ::)

Do you see a small round hole just below the cd tray? Try pressing it with a clip. What happens? These are usually mechanical gear problems that needs timing and realignment. It could also be the rubber needs replacement. But these require certain technician skills. Electronic devices with trays usually are similar just like on Audio components, DVD/CD players or even the classic VHS. Take it to someone you know are good with this kind of stuff.

I think you probably know what Jason means, but just in case, he means taking a paper clip and unfolding it so the end will fit into the hole.
