    Can't use Twitter

    I am running IE8 on Windows XP SP3. I have been unable to log in on Twitter. Every time I try to log in I get a message reading "You cannot use the Twitter website without having JavaScript enabled on your web browser. Please re-enable JavaScript and refresh this page." I have checked in Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom Level>scrolled down to Scripting and made sure that both Active Scripting and Scripting of Java Applets are checked. I just did a fresh reinstall of Windows and I am still having the same problem. Before reinstalling I also tried re-registering the .dll also to no effect. :'( PS my antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials. Could this be preventing Twitter from running?

    Java and javascript are different things.

      Active Scripting is checked. This problem has persisted even after a fresh install of Windows and IE8.

      Turn off MSE's active scan and re=boot...any difference ? ?

      How about in other web browsers like Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, do you encounter problem while browsing your Twitter?
