At what end have they broken ? ?
If at the notebook end the notebook is shot...if the drive end the drive is shot.

Begging and bumping won't change anything.

This looks to be a proprietary connector for a specific notebook (or series of notebooks). It would help if you could tell us what that notebook model is and the region you're in.

Things like this are usually quite hard to find, if not impossible.

You find the same model on eBay that is being sold for parts.
But without a model number, it is just guess work.
Do you know if the connectors are standard? If   so, you fabricate a new cable.

They look like the IDE used on laptop HDD. If so, you can make one. Or have somebody do it for you.

Hi I'm living in Spain. The Notebook has no brand name on it, it's just called a notebook, but i think it's a Kapok Notebook 7800T. This Name came up after searching for more ram. If i can make my own strap could i plug it straight on to the motherboard and bypass the connector that is screwed on to the HDD caddy and would the strap provide the power to the HDD. Thanks for all your replies Roger

Try to repair the one you have.  5-minute epoxy should work & post another pic.
From the pic, it's hard to tell how it's supposed to look like when new.  Black connector on left goes to drive.  Does the section on right go to the ribbon cable?  Put it back together the way it's supposed to look.

I don't see any contacts on the black connector; how does it mate to the other half?  Usually notebooks have a special interface on the motherboard; the cable is an adapter; yours doesn't look special.  Put it back together the way it's supposed to look, then take a pic.

You image is not showing.  You can upload directly to CH.  See additional options below message reply box.

Your other pics are gone now.
If you have the skills, this can be fabricated with this, which would replace the "split" ribbon.  The broken contact on the pc board can be soldered with a small 28ga jumper wire.

IDE laptop drives are 44-pin, +5v & +Gnd are on the extra pins.  IDE desktop drives are 40-pin.
              See pins 41-44

Hi can't get hold of a IDE laptop drive strap, is it possible to use a  IDE desktop drive strap and add two more strands to it thanks Roger.
