hp windows 7 creating a recovery disc problems
    « on: February 11, 2012, 12:30:09 PM »
    new hp windows 7
I'm trying to create recovery disc and I started it and didn't get the dvdr
in fast enough and it started, you can't stop it once it starts.
So after it copied the partition or tryed to.
I started and put the dvdr in this time but I wonder if I didn't ruin the
part of the drive I need to make the recovery disc.
How can I check to see if the dvdr I had in there has the information
I need in case down the road I need it?
Would I just put the dvdr in the computer and open it at the hard drive?
    Maybe see the files there?
I had w-xp before and I had no trouble making recovery disc there.

      Thanks Patio
How can I check to see if the dvdr I had in there has the information
I need in case down the road I need it?
It took 1/2 hour to copy but I didn't hear the disc running,Maybe it's quiet
I want to check the dvdr I copied to that the info is on there.
Do you know how to do that checking bit?

Hi!! What I would do is. Put your CD in your try, Reboot, Press F12 before windows loads. Change the boot from C drive, to boot from CD/DVD.
See if your PC will boot from your rescue CD. I take it right up to just before the restore, and then I exit.
Your boot sequence may be a little different, but it should be similar
If not, patio will correct me. patio is right CD's are cheap. You may never need this recovery disk but you never know when that old HD will die. I hope you have created a image of your drive on a external drive. If you need to know what files are on the disk, I can send you a screen shot. It would be better to just test it to see if your PC will boot from it.
I hope this helps and I'm not butting in.
