Dual hard drive questions

I have a computer with a new hard drive and I would like to slave in another hard drive that has some data I want to retrieve and copy to my new hard drive. How do I go about this with XP. Also can I format my old hard drive when done.Thanx.

Change the jumper on the existing hard drive to Master and then set the jumper on the old hard drive to slave.

You need to have an IDE cable which will accept a second, slave, drive.

It will be a good time to fit an 80 wire cable if yours is only 40 wire.
