« on: September 16, 2005, 10:08:21 PM »
hi,  i hope this is the right section for this question.  i'm just wanting advice on this.  i won a AMD athlon 64 4000+.  my mobo won't take this processor.  so i'm asking, in your opinion whats the best brand of mobo and ram.  i'm not a big gamer but i would play some from time to time.  i have no money in this processor and i'd like to spend about 200.00 on the rest something maybe with onboard video and network

You bought a 64 bit processor and only want to spend a total of 200 dollars on the mainboard and RAM?

Why did you bother with a brand new 64bit processor in the first place, then?

If you are looking for performance I would definitely spend more than 200 dollars if I won the processor for free.

Hey, I'll trade you my XP Athlon +2800 for it. Parts are cheaper.
