    I don't know how to lower the start button down to the left side of the monitor screen like it was before. I'll be appreciate for any assistance.

      Right-click an empty space on the taskbar. If Lock the Taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked. You can unlock it by clicking Lock the Taskbar, which removes the check mark. After just click on the taskbar and drag to move it down.

      Edit: I deleted my initial reply; it was erroneous.  bacskai79 is correct.  You can move the taskbar to the left side, top, right side, or bottom of your screen by dragging it as he explained.   After moving it, you should lock it to prevent another accidental move.
