ADOBE Flash Update Error

I have an HP PC with WinXP AND IE8. I keep getting an error message (about every 3 or 4 days) that says "Abobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3r300". The error report contents includes two HP Adm Temp local files. I send the error report to MS but the problem persists. I uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe Flash which did not resolve the problem. Can anyone give me some pointers on getting this fixed? Thanks.

The "automatic update" option is the component that is the cause of the problem.
