    Vertical Lines Monitor
    « on: October 25, 2012, 10:27:09 AM »
    Hi,
I recently bought i5 3570k and radeon 7850, so the problem i am facing is that
mostly during gaming(in dark backgrounds) i see some broad vertical lines.

my monitor is GL benq 2030 and it has a vga connection and i use the dvi to vga connector i got with the graphic card(radeon 7850).

To my surprise i didn't notice any such vertical lines when i connected the very same pc to my old CRT monitor, only with this new monitor i am facing vertical lines flowing upside down.

I have enabled tripple buffering and vsync in games that have that option, also lucid logic virtu mvp i got with asus board is also installed.

Please help me in knowing exactly what is causing this display issue and what can i do to have it resolved, either its graphic card problem or monitor problem,Please help me out.

    thanks

Verify that GL benq 2030 refresh rate is 60Hz, under Control Panel--Display--Settings--Advanced--Monitor
LCD/LED monitors are locked at 60Hz, CRT's could be set at various rates.  Plug & Play monitors should set this automatically.

Could also be a bad connection.  Does your graphics card have VGA or only DVI?

Your monitor has a DVI input, so why do you need the adapter?

In my graphic card i have  single link dvi n double link dvi and hdmi port, since monitor i mention has
only vga connection so for it to get plugged in pc i have to use dvi to vga adapter that came free
      with the graphic card.

      2 things you can try...
Power down and remove all power to the PC...remove and re-seat the vid card...sounds like it's not a software issue.
2nd...buy a new adapter...many are dodgy cheap knockoffs.

... since monitor i mention has only vga connection ...
Benq says monitor you say you have has 2 Input Connectors:  D-sub / DVI-D
      2030A is D-sub only.
