Format hard drive - clean start
    « on: November 18, 2012, 09:35:48 AM »
I have a Dell Inspiron One and a few months I had the BSOD numerous times.  The computer didn't come with a restore disk.  I contacted Dell and they sent me one.  When I used the disk, not only did it not work, it made things worse.  All the data I had on my hard drive I backed up.  I want to get a clean start.  The computer does not boot to windows or any other OS.  I am currently running Fedora 13 as my OS.  Fedora 13 is a Linux OS that I used to be able to access my computer.  Fedora 13 recognizes my hard drive.  When I right click my hard drive's icon, a "format" option is available.  Can I format my hard drive this way and start over again?  If not, what should I do?  I plan on installing Fedora 17 on my hard drive after I fix this problem.
