I removed these drivers from their original directory to another folder in My Documents:

    usbstor.sys
    usbport.sys
    usbstor.inf
    usbport.inf
    usb.inf
    usb.pnf
    usbstor.pnf
    usbport.pnf

I went to Device Manager and uninstalled all USB Root Hubs. After rebooting the XP PC, thinking the drivers would be recreated, the USB Root Hub, keyboard and mouse are not installed.

Now the XP PC is asking for the location of the drivers to install the USB Root Hub. I can't choose the folder's location in My Documents because the keyboard and mouse don't work.

I downloaded the exact same drivers from the internet which should work on our Windows XP Professional SP2 32-bit PC.

I burned the downloaded drivers to a cd using another PC. Inserted it into the XP PC and it almost worked. Installation was interrupted because the drivers are not verified by Microsoft. It's asking me to Continue Anyway or STOP Installation. I can't choose Continue Anyway because the mouse don't work.

Where can I get the same drivers only verified? Help me please. Thanks.

Re-install your MBoard Chipset drivers...why did you move the originals anyways ? ?

I removed the originals because the computer didn't recognize my Nokia 5130 XpressMusic in USB mass memory mode. It said the device has malfunctioned. It worked fine before. So I tried to remedy that. How do I reinstall the motherboard chipset drivers?

They will be on the Driver CD that shipped with the PC...

Or you can DLoad them from the manuf. site...

If it's an Intel MBoard you're on the right track...if it's an intel Chipset go to the MBoard manuf. site instead...they are different.

I will try them both. But I've got to sleep now. It's past midnight here where I am. Bye for now.

I didn't suggest try both...that may be a waste of time...
I stated if it's not an intel MBoard then get them directly from the MBoard manuf. site...
          Sorry if this was unclear.

Ok, I understand now. But how do I reinstall the chipset drivers if the mouse and keyboard don't work? That's the whole problem.

They may function in safemode as that loads minimal Windows default drivers...
If not you may need a PS2 style keyboard and mouse.

Did just try safemode, mouse and keyboard still don't work. What is a PS2 style keyboard and mouse?

Here are the ps2 ports on a desktop.

Keyboard is purple, mouse is green.
Not all use the color codes.

And they will work without being installed?

Sounds great but I checked our PC and I don't see any PS2 ports. What now?
