Windows 8 makes it difficult to get into Safe Mode. You no longer get to use the F8 key and will have to go through several windows including Advanced repair options until you get to Safe Boot. How to boot into Windows 8 Safe Mode from the Normal modeHere's the entire guide with screenshots:
1) Open the Run window (Windows key + R) and type
msconfig2) In the System Configuration window, choose the Boot tab. Under Boot options, place a check next to Safe Boot and click Apply and OK.
3) In the popup, click on Restart.
Windows will now restart in Safe Mode.
4) If you want to switch back to the Normal mode open the Run window again, type msconfig and uncheck the Safe Boot option.
