bootable and searchable dvd with menu????

hi there experts

i have tried to find some software to create a bootable and searchable dvd with menu, without luck...

I have all my late mother i laws recipies as individual pdf and jpg files, what i would like to do is to create a dvd that boots to a menu with the option to search the filenames on the dvd, and display the search results. so that i can give a dvd tomall the girls in the rather huge family.

2 questions::   1)Why bootable ? ?
2) If the recipes are labeled Windows Explorer can search by titles....why not just do that ?

bootable because i wanted to make a dvd that starts when you put it in the drive, and not explorer because i wanted to make a nice menu with a search fiels and a picture of my late mother in law
