Computer Crash...
« on: October 30, 2005, 11:23:41 PM »
Hi, when I try and push the start button my computer (on light, one of the cd drives & all the fans) comes on for a split second then dies?

I have tried replacing the power supply and CPU chip and thought I should check the actual on switch but I am not sure how to do this, can anyone help?

The motherboard is a P6BX-A+ (in an older Mind Computer 600mhz) and the switch has 2 leads on a three pin connector so the 1st and 3nd leads are active, the manual shows lead 1 = 1+, lead 2 = 2+ & lead 3 = 3-

Any other suggestions as to this issue would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Steve

You have listed what you have done so far to try to repair it, but what exactly have you done to break it?
