No display on monitor

Today I opened up my computer because the disk tray won't open and I read somewhere that it might be unplugged inside. Anyway when I put everything back together and all the leads in, no display was showing on the monitor. I'm just hoping I havnt touched and ruined anything on the motherboard. I was just wondering if maybe there was a small problem and an easy solution

Laptop or Desktop computer?

It sounds like a laptop, and if so, check to make sure everything is connected, especially the cables to the display.
