Windows Vista with IE often returns: 'can't display this page'
« on: December 25, 2014, 08:49:14 PM »
A few weeks ago I worked with Super Dave and removed a number of infected files.

I was very pleased with the results and think my antivirus program is now working well.

Yesterday after sleeeping overnight the computer showed; Explorer can't display this page.

I checked the settings in Explorer and they seemed as they should be. My connection to the net was OK.

I looked through my notes and found an old entry where I had recovered from a similar situiation with a 'clean boot'.

By going to 'msconfig' and hideing and disableing all Microsoft services my computer seemed to recover. I felt good.

After being asleep for a few hours the machine seemed to have reverted to it's former, can't display state. In short:

I had to go through the clean boot again to get on the net...

Any thoughts as to what's going on?
