    External Hard drive problems
    « on: September 14, 2015, 06:09:19 AM »
    Hi Guys,

I am really hoping someone can help me with my problem. I have an external Hard drive that used to work fine and today I have attached it to my laptop and my laptop isn't detecting it as fast as it did. Then once it has detected it "local Disk" comes up, however it has never been named Local Disk. Then when I try to open this it won't open and it is asking me to format the hard drive. I cannot do this as it will delete all my work. It is saying it is not accessible.

I have no idea why it is not accessible? I was using it just yesterday. Can someone please help me.  :)

This is usually caused by unplugging the drive without using safely remove hardware icon....
How does it show up in Device Manager ? ?....rite clik the HDD and select properties.

Try to assign a new letter for it in Disk Management: Right click "My Computer" > Mange > Disk Management > Right click your HHD > Change Drive Letter & Paths.
Sometimes, one has to activate his drive manually.
