Why does sierra have a floating 2nd display?
    « on: May 26, 2017, 04:36:36 PM »
    Hi!

Please have a look at the attached screenshots.

Why the floating -2nd- display below the main, primary, display?

What is the smaller display box below the main one that I can
    left-click-hold and drag around?

    Why do I need this?

    I don't have multiple screens.

I'm working on a new MacBook (see screenshot).

    Why the floating display?

This causes the most annoying thing: wherever I've put
it, when I mouse into that area my mouse disappears off-
screen, causing me to have to mouse back up to see it.

    I hate that!

Is there a way to turn this feature off?

    Thanks!

      SOLVED !!

For some reason, your Mac thinks you have an external display connected to it. If you pretend along with it, select Mirror, and the mouse should stay on your desktop where it belongs.

It's possible that resetting the NVRAM could resolve the issue: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063, or booting into Safe Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262, or resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Many thanks to "tjk" over there for solving this one!  :wink
