Microsoft edge not working right

When I click on it it goes to the taskbar and has the small pictures of above taskbar
but won't enlarge. I don't get search

I would recommend resetting the browser first. If that does not help then try reinstalling

or, unless you have some sentimental connection with Edge, why not take the opportunity to migrate to another browser, say Firefox or Chrome or Opera.
