    Audio Problems in Windows 10
    « on: December 04, 2017, 10:15:40 AM »
    Hello,

I am having a problem with my audio drivers ( No Audio Output Device is installed ) and the code 13 when I open up my device manager and head over to the audio driver's section and right click Conexant SmartAudio HD then properties I get this error : Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). I have an Asus gl552vx with gtx 950m, 12gb of ram, Intel Icore i7-6700HQ (2.59GHz), with windows 10 64 bit. When I ran troubleshooter for sound problems and restarted my pc the speaker icon was gone. Look at the screenshots below for more details.

I'd backup your data to an external hard drive or cloud storage and then reinstall Windows 10 clean to it or locate the driver from ASUS since its a laptop and reinstall the driver. https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ROG-GL552VX/HelpDesk_Download/

    Knocked Out,
    Welcome to Computer Hope.
Good job with the photos. That does help.
    Some information is needed.
Did this just now happen? If so, what changes were just made to your computer?
Do you have only one computer? Do you have any spare parts that might help?  Such as another sound card or device?

Short answer. Windows 10 did not find a suitable driver for the built-in device Which means that you may not getit  to work anytime  soon.

Hopefully, somebody else has a better answer.   :-\

Laptop drivers should always come from the lapyop manuf. site...

Visit the ASUS site as suggested...

      Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply. I ran troubleshooter when I was having the problems ( usually I just plug my headphones out and in when my speakers don't work ) but I did not have headphones with me at that time, so I ran the windows troubleshooter. After A quick restart, I noticed that the speaker icon was gone in the playback options and when I got home my headphones and the speakers did not work.

        Hello,

That did not help.. I downloaded the drivers and even tried to uninstall my current drivers and install the new ones.

No need to uninstall...Windows ignores unused drivers...just install the ASUS ones...and re-boot.
