internet explorer will not load google

hey everyone, newbie to the forum. got a small little problem. my physics teacher cannot access google from her machine. its running windows 98 se, and it has the latest updates for ie. also netscape cannot reach google. every other machine in the school can reach google, its only hers, and it has loaded google before, but recently has stopped loading it, as an A+ cert tech, first thing i asked her is "when did it stop working and what were you doing/did?" well she didnt know, ive looked on microsofts knowledge base, ive looked everywhere, and to no avail, there is no answer...if anyone has an answer pleeeeeaaaaase tell me now lol, thanx guys

    Well as a tech you have done your first job. And let me ask you the second one. Have you checked for malwares ? Use anti -virus, adware, spyware etc.. At this forum there's a great freeware security tool list. Just give a search.

    Let us know.

    Try to access Google via its IP address, http://64.233.167.104/.

    If you can access the site that way but not through the domain name, you have a DNS problem. Try clearing the DNS cache by opening up a command prompt and typing ipconfig /flushdns

    Check to make sure that Google is not part of her computer's restricted sites in the Internet Properties.

      alright, got back in school yesterday...and she wasnt there, today...wasnt there...so im hoping shes there tomorrow... if she is, then ill do the spyware/adware search, ill flush the dns...and btw there is an error message ONLY when trying to access it through netscape...internet explorer just acts gay and gives me the page cant be displayed bullcrap lol. so tomorrow i should be able to do all this, and ill let ya know, thanx for the help guys, and if it doesnt work, then if ya have any other ideas...feel free to tell me lol.

      ok ive figured out the problem, it is the DNS. i type in googles ip address, and it works just fine. but the ipconfig /flushdns does not do anything. the problem is still there. when i try to open google via its name through internet explorer, it says the page cannot be displayed, but in netscape, it says "The document contains no data." any more suggestions? especially after finding out it IS a DNS issue?

        You may be getting redirected to a site that has since been removed.
