Pool of Radiance module

Can someone please tell me what adf and mod files are?
I downloaded some adf files (contain mod files) for Pool of Radiance (the old version) which has been improved with new graphics and music.
Problem is, I don't know how to extract and use them.
I have my brother's old SSI box game. So do I add the new files to it or what??

(Im pretty useless with computers, so please explain in SIMPLE terms. Thanks)

Did no instructions come with the files you have downloaded? I suggest you search for a Pool of Radiance forum and ask there, they are bound to have more knowledge concerning the files you want installed.

It seems there are 2 games with the same name. The other (new) one is called Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor, and all the forums I've visited are for this one.
But I know the mods are for the old game coz it says so, but there's no instructions.

You can still ask on these forums, there are bound to be people that have played Pool of Radiance.
