Possibly, but I would doubt it... You see those recovery CDs are only programmed to run with an HP product, using a certain kind of motherboard, etc. if yours isn't on the list of them when this was made, it might not work. The same goes for some other components.

Good thinking. To be sure if it will work or not, you might consider contacting HP Compaq. They would be able to tell you for sure if it will work. I'm glad you looked into the issue however. Come back adn see us if you have any more questions  ;)

That's where security devices are bad. When you legally obtained the CD and actually have a use for it, it won't let you in. Irony of a sort...

It's a case where consumers let the practice become the norm. Had machines not been bought because there was no O/S CD, they would have quickly shown up in the packaging.  Unfortunately consumers were ready to take the pretty packaging, because so many were new to computers, or had no knowledge that it matters until times like  these.  ;)

Try it and see if it works. But then you are not computing you are communicating along with all the other communi-cat-ors in a community of communicating cats.

You you want to communicate or would you prefer to excommunicate?

This is the question.

Stop the crappola Mac. Not appreciated by anyone except you it seems.  If you want to be a loon, please do it in the "Other" section, where you are not quite so annoying to those with computer issues. People don't come here to dwell on your (lack of0  mental health status.
