Reverse ordered names

Hi there, should be a simple one but being simple I can't seem to fix it.

My problem, everytime I go to attatch a file to an email (or similar, ie send via IM)all the names of my files are in reverse order. I choose sort in order of name and they are in the correct order, and attatch the file. However when i come back to attatch at a later date, they are in reverse order again.

This is not the case when i go to open files themselves through the standard directories.

Any idea why my preferences arent saving and what to do to sort it out?
