Unable to shutdown.exe when computer is "lock"
    « on: September 19, 2006, 02:15:59 AM »
I am using Windows XP Professional on a stand alone pc.

During the day I ctr alt del to lock the computer to run some reports. With the windows scheduler I schedule  "shutdown.exe -s -t 0"  to shut down the pc at 5pm.

When using ctr alt del to lock the pc the shutdown.exe does not work. When the pc is not lock, the shutdown.exe works. The only program that is open before the shutdown.exe is another scheduler to run the reports.

During the day, need to ctr alt del for security reasons.

Looks like I need a script to ctr alt del to unlock the pc so that the shutdown.exe can work.

Have look into the msdn library and could find any appropriate scirpt.

Need some pointers on where the scripts are or there are other ways of shutting down the pc or someone has such a script.

    Thanks in advance.

Download the free shutdown.exe from www.beyondlogic.org It is the only shutdown utility that can shutdown or re-boot a PC that has been locked.  :exclamation
