Does this happen when you put the original RAM back in / Can you boot to Safe Mode & do a system restore?

Test the RAM using  Microsoft Memory Diagnostic (Click) and let it run for an hour per RAM stick. Don't use two RAM sticks at the same time.

pci.sys is a driver for the pci bus. You will need to restore the file.

Hey guys, well after trial end error ive found out the problem.. this problem is because ov a faulty mother board. As mentioned before i have a spare laptop that is exactly the same, so i removed the hard drive and the RAM chips and placed all into the spare laptop and the problem is no longer.
The problem first happend a while ago when the local shop got some RAM chips for me that did not work with the laptop so i got a new bigger hard drive thinking this would solve the problem but with messing with the RAM chips it came bloody back, maybe the problem never went away.
I tried copying the missing file and placing in the system32 file where it should be but the file made no difference so as above mentioned i moved the hardwhere over to my spare laptop. problem solved!!!!

THANKYOU GUYS FOR YOUR HELP AND IDEAS.... i am sure i will be back soon as i always find myself fiddling with the bloody thing...   good to know there are people out there to assist.....  ;D ;) :-[
