Sharing  applications  on  two
« on: October 16, 2006, 05:13:49 PM »
I  have  a  map  program  "mapsource"  installed  on  my  desktop.  How  can  I  move  this  program  to  my  laptop  without  the  installation  cds?  The  desktop  is  Windows  XP  and  the  laptop  is  Windows  98.

I  have  moved  all  the  files  over  but  the  program  opens  and  closes  immed.  I  think  this  is  a  registry  problem  and  I  am  a  newbe  in  that  area.

Can  you  help  me  out  or  send  me  somewhere  to  get  educated  in  importing  registry  files?

thanks

Applications cannot simply be moved from one machine to the next and run properly...they have to be installed.

What happened to your disks ? ?

patio.  8-)

p.s. Since Garmin charges a premium for their products i bet this is intentional...
